EU-Ukraine and EU-Georgia Association Councils

Two Association Councils had just finished in Brussels.

The 8th  EU-Ukraine Association Council was held on Monday, 5 September and co-chaired by Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine and Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The meeting covered a number of topical issues, including the implementation of the Association Agreement and state of play of EU-Ukraine cooperation, EU support to Ukraine, and its commitment to the reconstruction of Ukraine.

The next day, on Tuesday, 6 September, the 7th EU-Georgia Association Council took place and was co-chaired by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili and Josep Borrell representing the European Union. Participants of the meeting discussed EU-Georgia’s relations, against the background of Georgia’s application for EU membership, political dialogue and reform, economic and sectoral cooperation, trade and trade-related matters, and peaceful conflict resolution.
