At the European Union summit on 23-24 June, the European Council is expected to announce a decision on whether to grant Ukraine candidate status to the European Union. This will be a crucial moment in the history of Ukraine’s efforts toward European integration, as Ukraine’s prospects for EU membership could be legally recognized.
Ukrainian high-ranking officials ask the European community to support Ukraine in its European aspirations and candidacy for EU membership. That is why the country has launched a communication campaign “Embrace Ukraine. Strengthen the Union “, aimed at supporting Ukraine on its way to the EU.
The Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, Olha Stefanishyna, took part in CEPS Ideas Lab 2022 in Brussels – the annual event on European Union policy. She called on the EU expert community to advocate for Ukraine’s candidate status. In her opinion, this is the most important strategic decision that can pave the way for a stronger and more united Europe.
